People come to counseling for many different reasons and Archways Family Counseling believes there is no one size fits all solution. I work with you to find what is going to be the best option for the goals you have for your life. I believe all individuals have within them the tools to make change in their lives. Life, irrational beliefs, trauma, problematic behaviors can all get in the way of an individual’s ability to access what they have within them to make the changes needed to feel more fulfilled in their lives. This is where counseling comes in, helping to clear the obstacles in the way.

Believing in and trusting your counselor is the most important part of the process and so I invite you to schedule a free initial consultation to meet me and see if I am the right fit for you and/or your family.

EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. It is an integrative psychotherapy approach that has been extensively researched and proven effective for the treatment of trauma and other psychological disorders.

I have been trained in EMDR, which works well addressing anxiety, trauma, post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and phobias. According to the EMDR International Association (EMDRIA), EMDR has helped millions of people in all age groups relieve many types of psychological stress.

Adolescence can be a confusing and tumultuous time for many teens and their families. Individuals at this stage of life are between childhood and adulthood and need a special kind of attention. We, at Archways Family Counseling, have specific training and experience working with teens and their families, helping everyone with the transition into adulthood. Archways Family Counseling understands the importance of taking into account what developmental stage your teen is currently in and thus, services will be tailored to each specific adolescent’s developmental stage. Sometimes we wish teens had the same reasoning power as adults, but that is not always the case. Because of this, parents often have a hard time talking to their teen about counseling and what it may do for them. We are happy to consult with parents/concerned adults on how to approach this sensitive subject.

Adult Individual

At Archways Family Counseling, we believe each individual possess the skills and abilities to make their life what they want it to be. Through counseling, we help clients realize their strengths and make the necessary changes to live the life they desire.

Counseling offers individuals a safe and non-judgmental atmosphere to work through issues currently troubling them. Archways Family Counseling works with individuals on many issues including; depression, anxiety, stress management, weight loss/gain, eating disorders, career issues, grief and loss, trauma and abuse, personality disorders, bipolar disorder, divorce recovery, and other life transitions.

Parenting is the hardest job out there and it seems as if everyone wants to give their two cents on what you are or aren’t doing and how you can make things better. Archways Family Counseling understands how personal parenting is and works with parents in a non-judgemental way in order to help you begin to enjoy your children again. Counseling around parenting may involve just the parents, discussing the many frustrations that come up and how to effectively deal with them or, it may be a combination of child, parent and family therapy. Archways Family Counseling will work with parents to come up with the best plan that will work for their needs.
